A Bibliophile's Dream, My Nightmare

Imagine having 9+ mostly-uninterrupted hours in a car, for reading. All those hours to read as much as you can. Heaven. Heavenly. Divine.

Unless you're me.

Unless you're me and you get pukey/nauseously sick if you even attempt to read a map, let alone a book, in the car. All those wasted hours! The torture! It's actually painful, irritating, upsetting. There's my book (one of 3 with me, actually), sitting in my lap, waiting, waiting for us to stop and fuel up so I can read one page before we drive off again.

That's my definition of an "awake" nightmare.

I know, I know. Problem with that is, I have a car with 3 other people who don't want to hear it and we don't have a working portable cd player anymore. :(

I have the same problem. I thought taking the train would help, it didn't!

I'm with Lisa & Robb. I was going to suggest an audiobook. Can you get a cheapie portable CD player? I'm sure you could get one for like $20... Sucks about the 8 hour drive!! :(
