Japanese China

Wait, can one say "Japanese china?"

We received these gorgeous pieces from my in-laws. They belonged to David's maternal grandmother. Click the pictures to see details.

Do you know what these are called? We sure don't.

Look at the gorgeous colors. They also have raised, bumpy paint all over them.

Absolutely gorgeous! Don't know anything about them, though...sorry. :-(

You are blessed to have them.

Check the bottom. Some real old china from Japan was stamped in Red or Black ink with just the word Japan....and earned the names "Red Letter Japan" or "Black Letter Japan". If memory serves me correctly the "Red Letter Japan" is typically more valuable and especially if you have the whole set and it has no cracks or chips

oh....if it says "Made in Occupied Japan" even better.

They say "Made in Japan" in red letters. I *do* have Blue Willow China that says "Made in Occupied Japan" too.
