She's not..I don't...It's just....

Um. She's...well? They were playing Yahtzee. She lost like 6 times. Her? Who? I don't know her. Errr....ok, she's my big sister.

(YouTube was being a pain, pausing a lot. Let it load a bit to get the full effect).

Whedonverse Clue: The Weapons

The Weapons are next in our on-line clue game

Echo's Stiletto, the Freeze Ray, Olaf's Hammer, the Sword of Angelus, Vera, a stake and Inara's Incense were in play.

Click on the scans and photos to make them bigger and see who carved what. Thanks to all the talented carvers who allowed me to post their works of art.

(The Sword of Angelus is suspended in between two cards, on a penny, so it floats up and down).

We have the weapons, the locations and the suspects. Next up: the victim and, dum dum, dum, the answer.

Whedonverse Clue: The Locations

First we had The Suspects. Next we present The Locations for our Whedonverse Clue game.

Again, I want to thank all the stamp carvers who allowed me to show their works. These images on these trading cards have to include a hand-carved stamp image, along with whatever embellishing you like.

The Locations are the Bronze, the Laundromat, the Seal of Danthalzar, Serenity Valley, Sunnydale Cemetery, Angel Investigations and Aboard the Firefly.

Click on the pictures for more detail. I posted scanner and camera pictures of each set.

Ooops! Typo on the scan above! The Seal, not the Seak. I am too lazy to re-scan and re-do. :P

(The laundry door up there opens up. Hee hee.)

I want to learn how to get that glossy-embossy feel of some if the cards I received, but I need a SUPER-DUMBED DOWN version of the instructions. Like "Buy this here, do this here, etc."

Thanks to call the talented carves. Zoom those pictures up and look at the details and the awesomeness of these locations!

Next up: The Weapons!

Whedonverse Clue: The Suspects

Back in May, I posted about a Whedonverse Clue game that I would be playing on-line with several other letterboxing carvers. We would each chose a suspect, location or weapon, carve a stamp, and make 24 LTC's (Letterbox Trading Cards. Like ATC's.)

To follow are the suspects. One note: Every single owner of these carves and cards attached gave me permission to post their works, because they are awesomely nice. Thanks guys and gals, for letting me post your amazing work! I enjoy spreading my Whedon geek love around and am grateful for your letting me post these!

I took both photos and scans of each of them, because sometimes the scans just did not do them justice. Our suspects were: Echo, Giles, Illyria, Drusilla, Inara, Jayne, Dr. Horrible and Numfar of the Deathwok Clan.

These images were hand-carved, people! We carved an image, inked them up and stamped our trading cards and decorated them.

Click on the pictures to make them bigger and to see who carved what.

The Dr. Horrible/Evil League of Evil one was a pop-up card.

All the details on these are fantastic! All of them!

Stay tuned for the next postings of Whedonverse Clue: Locations and Whedonverse Clue: Weapons, plus see who the victim was, and who dunnit!

I'm a Bad Kisser

This conversation happened this morning as I was leaving for work.

Me: Want me to make you something to eat?

Isabel: No.

Me: Want a punch in the nose?

Isabel: Noooooo.

Me: Want a kiss before I go?

Isabel: Yes…but not like the one you gave me last night. It was gross.

Me: (laughing) WHAT? Why?

Isabel: It was all wet.

Uh, what? True Blood's Latest Episode

You know I love "Buffy" and "Angel." I love "Supernatural" too. This does not mean that I love all vampire lore.

I'm pretty sure I am not interested in watching HBO's "True Blood" anymore. The show is loosely based on the books, which I have been reading and enjoying. I get that the tv show veered from the books, for action sake, but I'm pretty much over the soft porn and violence of it all. I'm over the gratuitous sex, the characters who died in the books that are still alive in the show, and vice-versa and also, I can't stand Anna Paquin's acting. Her southern accent drives me fruity.

This past Season 3 episode (# 27: It Hurts Me Too) was pretty much it for me. The final, disgusting scene with Bill and his maker, what's-her-name, was gross and senseless. Again, gratuitous sex. I can already see the storyline developing with Sam's "parents" taking advantage of him (never happened in the books) and I am not liking it either. I was watching this episode on my dvr and wishing it were over.

And WHO in their right mind thought that the new vampire Franklin was attractive? Ew. Gross. In the books, he's a mature business vamp. He's just...greasy in the show.

I think I'll stick to the books and let Ms. Harris' story play in my head, rather than accept what HBO is giving us.

Something in the Wind....

Tuesday evening, I'm getting the shower ready for Isabel. She's naked and I'm chasing her around the couch upstairs. I get her in her bathroom and get close to her butt as I try to pinch it. We both laugh hysterically. Then....she says, in between giggles, "I farted in your face." O_0

Full-House Weekend

No, we didn't watch the John Stamos/Olson Twins show all weekend.

We had a house full o' family. We started with David's parents on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Then we had David's sister, husband and four kids Friday through Sunday nights. My in-laws came back Sunday evening to spend the night, so that evening, July 4th, we had 12 people (counting ourselves) in the house.

Here are some photos of the Fourth of July weekend activities.

A ghost tucks Isabel in.

I start baking some cakes.

The cousins head to a local water park, after an attempt to go to a State park on July 3. BAD idea. Over an hour wait to get in to the park.

On Sunday July 4th, everyone headed to the beach, except for Jake and me. Why? July 4th, at the beach. Also, I really, really, really, do not like going to the beach. Too much work.

Everyone came back from the beach. Shower, shower, bath, clean! Time for dinner. We had chicken, bratwurst and hot dogs on the grill. Potato chips, corn on the cob, potato salad and baked beans were our sides.

Dessert?

Then it was time for fireworks.

Remember these?

It started to rain even before we got into anything good in my sister & brother-in-law's stockpile of goods, so we went in to wait out the rain.

Eventually, the rain did go away.

Isabel and Uncle Leif hold a Roman Candle up.

The next morning, David's sister and her family left for the Disney area for more of their vacationing down there. We went with David's parents and Jake's girlfriend to Daytona Lagoon.

The second place holder of the mini-golf challenge, my father-in-law. I came in last.

After lunch and bidding David's parents a safe trip home (they left from Daytona Lagoon straight towards home), we went back for some air-conditioned fun.

Sarah and Jacob.

Now, we four are lounging. Jake is asleep, David and Isabel are playing Lego Harry Potter, and I am ignoring the laundry I have to do and the floors I have to clean.
Hope you all had a wonderful 3-day weekend and God Bless America.
